Sabalenka 6-3 6-1 Bronzetti
Aryna Sabalenka, speaking on court after her straight-set win over Lucia Bronzetti and greeting a young fan in the crowd:
"That means a lot, it's something that keeps me going. To see the young generation being inspired by me - this is what it's all about. I'm a little bit in shock because this is such an inspiration for me.
"[Turning to the young fan] Thank you so much, you're so cute and I hope you're going to be on this level soon."
On the conditions: "A half-closed roof definitely helped a lot. When I came out onto the court I was saying 'thanks' to the person who did it because this is really helpful.
"I told myself that I had to stay focused from the first point to the last one, and make sure you're not going to spend a crazy amount of hours [playing] so you're ready for the next one.
"It's tough conditions to play in but I'm happy I was able to manage the win in two sets and about one hour."

Dart 6-7 (10-12) 1-6 Kostyuk
Annabel Croft
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC SoundsIt became very negative and I don't think of Harriet Dart as being like that. I think of her as someone who digs in and fights to try and find a way to get herself back in the match.
I've never seen her body language look that deflated and flat but I guess it's hard in this heat and what she invested in that first set.

Sabalenka 6-3 6-1 Bronzetti
Job done for Aryna Sabalenka.
A thoroughly professional job and she just had too much for Lucia Bronzetti.
Sabalenka breaks again to seal the win, shakes hands with Bronzetti then goes straight over to her young fan, who came dressed as Sabalenka - tattoo and all.
A really lovely moment as she invites the young girl onto the court to take a couple of pictures with her.

Dart 6-7 (10-12) 1-6 Kostyuk
Marta Kostyuk seals victory with a powerful forehand down the line and let's off a guttural roar.
Harriet Dart does not hang about. She grabs a towel and puts it round her neck, stuffs her racquet in her bag, then makes a sharp exit from court five.
The British number three had her chances in what was a very error-strewn contest.

Annabel Croft
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC SoundsI was sitting outside courtside and let me tell you it is really hot out there, no wonder they had the ice towels out.
Behind this court when you come out round the side they've got all these fans blowing out a mist and lots of people are standing there not moving or watching the tennis, just trying to cool down.
I felt Harriet Dart was the much better player over the course of that first set, she just looked so much more solid and right on top of her game, the forehand was doing some damage cross court, but the serve let her down.
She's really lost her way now, she's kind of lost the bravado and her shoulders have slumped a bit.

*Dart 6-7 (10-12) 1-5 Kostyuk
Harriet Dart cuts a frustrated figure now. She's gesticulating to her team and holding her arms out when a shot doesn't go her away.
The Briton starts to take some risks, advancing to the net, but Marta Kostyuk reads her early and is able to dink the ball into the open court.
Kostyuk now just one game away.

Aryna Sabalenka is closing in on the third round.
She was in control in the first set but has kicked on in the second, overwhelming Italy's Lucia Bronzetti and now has the double break.
The 26-year-old is three games from victory and seems to be in a hurry.

Harriet Dart fluffs a straightforward drop shot at the net to open a window for Marta Kostyuk to break.
An expansive rally featuring lobs from both players culminates with the 19th seed smashing down the line to break Dart for a second time.
Things are starting to unravel for the British number three, who is now two breaks down.

Raducanu 'learns lesson'published at 21:44 British Summer Time 28 August
21:44 BST 28 August
Emma Raducanu says she wants to play more matches before Grand Slam tournaments after losing to Sofia Kenin in the US Open first round.
Britain's Raducanu, who lost 6-1 3-6 6-4, was searching for her first victory in New York since unexpectedly winning the title in 2021 as a teenage qualifier.
Raducanu played just one tournament between Wimbledon in July and the US Open, reaching the quarter-finals in Washington earlier this month.
"I would like to play more matches," Raducanu told BBC 5 Live.
"I wouldn't probably still play every single tournament leading up, but I would probably play more than I did this time. It's a lesson to learn for next year."

A double fault from Harriet Dart, who holds her arms out to her mother in the crowd, gives Marta Kostyuk a break point chance.
The Ukrainian gets the break after an unforced error from Dart, who is wilting a little in the heat now.
Kostyuk, by contrast, looks purposeful.
Sabalenka breaks early in second setpublished at 21:43 British Summer Time 28 August

*Sabalenka 6-3 1-0 Bronzetti
It's a scorching day at Flushing Meadows and Aryna Sabalenka looks like she wants this match done quickly.
A booming forehand, right into the corner, brings up three break points to start the second set.
Lucia Bronzetti, though, digs in and saves all three.
But a brutal crosscourt winner gives Sabalenka a fourth break opportunity and this time she takes it.
