Eliminate AI risks without harming or overcontrolling Ukrainian businesses. This principle is the basis of the White Paper, a navigational document for business that describes in detail the steps taken by the state to regulate AI in Ukraine. What is in the White Paper?️↗️ approach to the implementation of AI rules - we move from the bottom up, i.e. first prepare companies for the requirements, and then adopt legislation🏆 benefits for business, the state, and citizens from the implementation of regulation - European integration, access of companies to international markets, and, of course, the safety of citizens in the digital environment🛠 tools that will soon be available to businesses to prepare for future requirements. These include sandboxing, AI labeling, recommendations, voluntary codes of conduct, etc.Regulation and AI development are unavoidable. Therefore, Ukrainian businesses should prepare in advance and make AI compliance their advantage. The state will help. Read the White Paper here: https://cutt.ly/fesU0ujm I am grateful to USAID, and East Europe Foundation (EEF) namely the USAID Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure in Ukraine Activity and the Digital Transformation Activity teams, for their assistance in developing the White Paper 🤝🏻

How AI is developing in Ukraine — results of a big research 🧠For the first time, we analyzed the AI ecosystem in Ukraine — from the number of personnel and companies to the state of education and the role of the state. Found a lot of insight, for example:🧠 how many specialists are currently working in the industry and what professions are the most popular🎮 in which AI industries Ukrainians have the most expertise🦄 how many university programs on AI exist and what is needed to develop education💸 how many companies attract investments and who are the leadersFind all answers in the research "The AI ecosystem of Ukraine: Talent, Companies, and Education" by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, AI HOUSE and Roosh: https://cutt.ly/AeaqKI9U

AI fake or real photo: how to tell the difference 👀 AI pictures and videos are flooding social media. Sometimes it’s difficult to understand whether it is a high-quality fake or a real video. For Ukrainians, this is especially important when russia is filling our information space with deepfakes. Together with the creators of Photoshop, Adobe company, we held a workshop on how to distinguish reality from deepfake in a photo/video context. Representatives of the company showed their tools for fact-checking visual content.Highly recommend watching the workshop in the recording and learning more about these tools: https://cutt.ly/1eq8x3Fx

📊 Ukraine's crypto gains in 2023 are estimated at $850 million, according to Chainalysis data. This highlights the growing strength of the Ukrainian crypto market on the global sсale. 🌍Crypto is an integral part of our digital economy and we must provide a coherent legal framework for companies and investors working with these new asset classes.🏛️For this reason, last year, we introduced a new draft law on crypto assets regulation to Ukraine’s Parliament, designed to nurture the growth of crypto-driven innovations within our country. 📈I'm deeply convinced that such a strategic legislative move will boost market integrity and drive substantial benefits for Ukraine's economy for years to come.

Presenting guidelines on the responsible use of AI in the media. Now in English ☺️ 🇺🇸 Recently, we published recommendations for media on how to use AI without risks for their audiences. After that, our team received a lot of positive feedback from Ukrainian journalists from different editorial offices. Some of them are already integrating the recommendations into their workflow. That‘s incredibly cool!We are moving on and are pleased to share our experience with foreign colleagues and journalists. In English version, stakeholders from other countries can learn about Ukraine's approach to the use of AI in the media. Hope these guidelines will be useful for other governments and media to develop their own documents in this area.Read the document via link and use AI ethically: https://cutt.ly/Xw0DUddp

The further we go, the more substantive conversations and discussions about AI become. At this stage, we are no longer just building hypotheses and fantasies about AI, but talking about the specific challenges we face in the development of this technology.Participated in a panel discussion at the conference "Quantum Leap: AI Rethinks Possibilities" organized by Lviv IT Cluster. Together with representatives of Ukrainian businesses and startups, we discussed the future of AI: what should be the regulation, trends for the next 5-10 years, and whether the risks from AI are as terrible as everyone says. I fully agree with colleagues that personalization of products and regulation will be the main concepts in the development of AI in the coming years. Although some businesses are still skeptical about establishing regulation for AI systems, most developers understand that it is inevitable. You can make a revolutionary product, but you won't be able to use it and sell it to foreign markets. It is a new reality we need to be ready for. International investors have already been asking what data Ukrainian companies train their models on and rely on when financing projects. The ethicality of an AI product is becoming not just a sign of product quality, but a guarantee that it will be able to work and scale.

2023 was definitely a productive year for our team in the digital economy development 💪🏻The main launch of the year for me is the uResidency beta test. We have been working on this project for three years and will go out with a full-fledged start soon. I strongly believe in the potential of this program to strengthen the Ukrainian economy. This year was a turning point in the development of artificial intelligence. The whole world is talking about AI — governments, businesses, and each of us. Ukraine is also not standing aside. We have already presented a roadmap for AI regulation. In 2024, we will publish a White Paper, work on Government BI, and a course for medical students. Our team has also achieved significant results in the realm of fostering crypto industry growth in Ukraine. Launched a free educational course on crypto literacy and blockchain on Diia.Osvita. Together with colleagues from the Committee on Legal Policy, we worked on the concept of 'digital thing,' and this has been passed as a law, giving crypto assets real meaning. Additionally, we initiated and presented the research study ‘Web3 for Ukraine: Talk to Founders’ to identify the key needs of the web3-businesses in our country. Registered in Parliament a new draft law on regulating crypto-based economy to create a favorable environment for this innovative industry. Big plans for 2024 — launching a regulatory sandbox for high-tech startups working with web3 and AI tech.Highly appreciate Mykhailo Fedorov and Alex Bornyakov help and support in the development of all these projects. We have ambitious plans for next year, the implementation of which will strengthen both our economy and the brand of Ukraine as a digital state 🇺🇦
